The POkkY System was in operation in Europe and later started in the USA...In 1982 in Paris, France at a major Computer Trade Show at the Tandon booth, Jean-Pierre C. Shea presenting his first Wireless Touch Screen Handheld POS System the "TelePATH"
It was the first Touch Screen Wireless Portable Restaurant Network in the World, developed for the Hospitality Industry. The hand held was an Epson Touch Screen Portable Computer...As you could see, the full system was touch screen including the fix terminals. The order could be also taking, with the help of one cursor by scrolling to the item and select it, by clicking on the scroller.

The touch screen handheld system was in operation at a very large chain of restaurants in the U.S.A. The hand held was heavy and slow but It was the beginning of a new way of controlling your operation...
Jean-Pierre Shea has a patent for a full duplex IR portable transmission... It was the beginning of the touch screen, and the touch screen remote ordering era...today, we use RF!
